It is now legal to complete a statutory declaration through electronic means.
From 1 January 2024, it is now possible to:
- complete statutory declarations through the use of electronic signatures and video-link witnessing
- digitally execute a statutory declaration using the myGov online platform and the myGov ID Digital ID platform
If you need to complete a statutory declaration, you are still welcome to use the traditional, paper-based method, but you could choose to complete the statutory declaration online if that suits you better.
